It’s been a week now since the Boston Marathon bombings, but I just wanted to write a short post saying that my heart goes out to all the victims.
This was an unbelievable act of ugly violence and not one individual in that marathon deserved to go through something like that. The fact that the two men responsible for the crime have now been captured (one of them killed) is little comfort, I find.
Should we feel sorry for Tiger Woods for all the ridicule he got a few years ago? Yes, he was successful in the beginning and was able to rise to the top. Then came marriage etc. Next thing you he’s trying to escape from his wife because he was caught cheating. Was he not ready to settle down? Because off all that Tiger got a lot of negative press, people were disgusted by him and sponsors walked away. He was at the bottom of the bottom. He tried to compete but he just was not as good as he used to be. Something changed him.
With spring now a few weeks old, many of us have surely completed or begun the annual spring cleaning. Whether you’re completely overhauling the space around you, dumping unnecessary work files, or just revamping your music playlists, there’s something about spring that compels us to clean.
When signing up for a sports league, any time of the year, you are usually aware of what you signed up for. That being either being recreational or competitive. Those who sign up for recreational are there to have fun. They don’t care who really wins as long as they have a good time. For those who like the challenge and drive to win. Maybe a competitive league is more for you. These leagues are for people who are not there just to have fun. Fun is winning and working hard for it. That’s what drives you. Its rare, but there are times were you join a recreational league and there is a group of people who decide to make it more competitive.
