Lately, I have been noticing a (somewhat) new trend going on: people seeking animals for companionship. As more people are moving out and living on their own a sense of loneliness may follow. They dislike coming to an empty home with no one to interact with. A pet, such as a dog or cat, becomes a good option. Pets need a home and good people to take care of them. They, in a sense, become like a child that needs love and attention. Minus the diapers and daycare of course.
Living in the city with the condo market booming I happen to see people walking their dogs all over. Taking them to stores and even the local coffee shops. But it doesn’t just end there. Couples who have chosen not to have kids have adopted a pet instead. Is having kids in today’s society not a huge expectation as it was once…say 10, 20, 30 years ago? Well that’s all I really have to say on this, but please comment below if you feel that pets are now the new children. I would like to know what you think.
