Celebrities and the Fan Craze

There is nothing wrong with having a celebrity that you admire. We all have them I’m sure. Well most of us and there is nothing wrong with that. When you’re younger that’s when they are the most influential and as age comes along celebrities don’t seem to impact us as greatly. However, for some adults that may not be the case. These are the ones who become obsessed.

Kids I get it, when they see their favourite singer or actor they go crazy. They buy the clothes designed or worn by them, copy hair styles, buy posters or makeup etc. On a side note I’ll admit it kind of freaks me out even how obsessive the kids can get. Especially when you hear them going berserk and screaming at a live concert. But I guess it’s understandable. They’re looking for the idol to look up to. They want to be like them as much as possible and will go crazy when they see them.

Now what I don’t get is when full grown adult goes celebrity crazy. You know which ones I’m talking about. The ones that go one YouTube and cry and freak out when a celebrity upsets them. Take the example of the grown women who freaked out when Kristen Stewart cheated on her boyfriend. She was happy then upset. Then the next thing you know she’s screaming on how Krysten could do that. Did these people miss something when they were growing up? I just don’t get it. Why are these people living in a dream world. They’re adults. They should be past that.

Also let us not forget we also have the stalkers. Who call or go to the home of where the celebrity lives. What do they expect? To be let in and spend some good quality time with the celebrity? What are they thinking!? They just get arrest and put in jail. It’s completely puzzling. But these people do exist.

Celebrities are human just like everyone else. We just glamorizes them because we see them on tv or hear them over the radio. However out there in the real world there are those who just take it to another level…. Which I would call insanity.
