When signing up for a sports league, any time of the year, you are usually aware of what you signed up for. That being either being recreational or competitive. Those who sign up for recreational are there to have fun. They don’t care who really wins as long as they have a good time. For those who like the challenge and drive to win. Maybe a competitive league is more for you. These leagues are for people who are not there just to have fun. Fun is winning and working hard for it. That’s what drives you. Its rare, but there are times were you join a recreational league and there is a group of people who decide to make it more competitive.
I have developed a bad habit recently. When I come home after work, I grab a quick bite to eat and flop down on the couch and turn on my TV. I have a fleet of TV shows that I must watch before I get on with anything else. That’s about 3 hours of my precious time wasted on fictional characters. In any case, this all started when I accidentally caught an episode of Criminal Minds that airs every weekday at 6PM (now at 5PM AND 6PM which is a blessing and a curse). I immediately developed an intellectual crush on agent Reid, agent Morgan makes my brain fire electrical signals into the most inappropriate places and Garcia is just plain hilarious. Of course, that’s all superficial.
Sometimes I feel like I live in the wrong century. There are many reasons for this and I am about to make you privy to one of them. So, listen to the tale of my woe and tell me if you share the same opinion or if you just think I’m crazy.
The confusion and familiarity of the above title’s sentence is my topic of the day: genuine communication. It’s lost. OK, not lost; I will proudly say that I’m doing my best to carry its torch, as are a few others.
